How important is stretching?

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong and healthy. We need the flexibility for range of motion in the joints. Without it, our muscles will shorten and become tight. Making daily activities harder because muscles become weak and unable to extend all the way.

I for one have minor problems with my back and notice the more I stretch, the less problems I have. I have also noticed that I’ve loss quite a bit of my flexibility as I’ve gotten older, but plan on challenging my body to gain the flexibility back.
